For Sale 1937 Model 46C
Priced Reduced to $60,000
This Buick was purchased from a Hollywood used car lot in 1939 by a carpenter for a work car. It is rumored to have been an MGM movie car. But there is no proof that it was. This 1937 Buick has been rotisserie restored, sandblasted and all metal finish work to the body and sheet metal, (no Bondo). It has the desired 3.9 optional differential for freeway cruising with all new axle bearings and seals. It has the original 1937 engine that has been rebuilt with later pop-up dome pistons, RV cam, later oil pump, and Evans anti-corrosive liquid coolant installed, rocker arms and tappets refaced, restored transmission with all new bearings and seals, 1956 Buick brakes and roller bearing front spindles. The horns were restored by the horn doctor back east. The running boards have been re-vulcanized in rubber by Hunley Acuff of Rossville, GA. The steering wheel was recast in Ivory plastic by JB Donaldson of Phoenix, AZ. The body was sandblasted and finished in basecoat/clearcoat Dupont urethane. The upholstery is a LeBaron-Bonney kit installed by Roy's upholstery shop in Portland, Oregon. The dash is restored with the correct wood grain finish, the radio has been restored, but the on/off switch is inoperative and is on when the master electrical switch is on. It has an electric fuel pump operated by a spring loaded switch so it overrides the mechanical pump during start-up. All the instruments and speedometer were restored by Bruce Abbott of Portland, OR.

I have copies of Previous owner spent over 10,000 on this car at a restoration shop. Original “Straight 8” engine runs and sounds great; gauge show 50 pounds of oil pressure and generator charges good. The gas tank was removed and taken to Roppel’s Radiator Shop where they cleaned it thoroughly, soldered up any rust holes and coat the tank inside and out with baked epoxy coating, in March of 2019 I installed a new Carter electric fuel pump. It has a factory radio which does not currently play. Older paint job that looks good as is for the “GO CAR”. Some windows are cracked or are delaminating allow moisture between the glass, but it is all flat glass that can be cut by a local glass shop. Windows Raise up and down smoothly. Brakes are weak and will need attention to be safe on the road. Mohair Upholstery may possibly be the original interior, front seat lower cushion has badly torn area. White wall tires were installed by previous owner but have had little if any miles put on them. Located in Hillview, Kentucky. Calls or text 502-550-2797 Payment in Cash only. Local Pick up only.
